Lie. Cheat. Master Manipulator. You wreak havoc with your constant infidelities. Your actions indirectly cause me to question my worthiness, my appearance and at times the point of my existence. I start to walk in fear. Do you love me? Will you be there? What have I done to cause this outpour of rejection bestowed upon me? When questions like this begin to plague me, we’ve run our course. We are not meant to be.

Boy Bye!

You want sex, hot meals and flawed skin on demand. A home kept clean and nice, quiet and comfortable when you get home. Rub your back; raise the kids; hold you down but never did you truly intend to make this house our home. Do you invest your fidelity, energy and time? Can I call on you to be there for me, when it’s my time to be in need? Or will you simply offer empty excuses as to why you couldn’t be?

Boy Bye!

When trials come to test integrity, honesty and loyalty, you know the characteristics you only intend to receive; you fail each time, resorting to phony apologies and fake tears. But trust, that karma can definitely be a bitch! You’ll soon see how it feels to be with someone who embodies self-interest and deceit. I know longer fall victim to your manipulation tactics, I guess it was fun for you while it lasted.

Boy Bye!

Why is it that you tell me, you can’t stand the thought of another being loved by me? Yet, you’re the one who seems to cause the most harm to me. Have you truly loved me unconditionally? So busy looking at what it takes to give instead of realizing all you had to gain in me. I doubt that you actually took the time to get to know me. I’m starting to see that you came not to give, but only to take which will only suck the life out of me. Now you know I won’t just sit back and allow such foolery to be done to me. One day, you’ll realize and see what you’ve lost when you betrayed me.

Boy bye!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad or bitter. In loving you, I have learned how to love and value me so much better! You have taught me exactly what I don’t want for me, things I won’t accept from, or for myself because I know better. Had I not come across you, I wouldn’t know how to properly value individuals who actually do tell the truth. I now see how important it is to value myself first, above all else. In doing so I can properly discern individuals, who genuinely respect, love and care for me unselfishly. Thanks to you, I was able to witness what the absence of truth will do.

Boy Bye!

In the bible, the book of Genesis depicts a story of God’s creation of the beginning of time. Heaven and earth was made, the creation of man, woman and all living things. The Garden of Eden, Eden also means the presence of God, tells a story regarding the temptation the serpent brought to Adam and Eve in God’s creation of paradise. Now, the serpent, which according to the dictionary is known as a large snake or could also mean a sly or treacherous person, especially one who exploits a position of trust in order to betray it.

What’s most prevalent to me is when the serpent deceives Eve to believe the instruction given by God, she should supersede. In fact, the serpent goes on to tell Eve, she would be smarter and more “like God” if she did the opposite of what God told her to do, which is not eat from this forbidden fruit tree. Not only did she eat from this forbidden tree, she then convinced her counterpart to do the exact same thing. Although the story in the bible is said to have occurred eons ago, the same cycle is still occurring today. Has modern society become the new age Adam and Eve? I’d like to take you back into biblical times just to give a simpler understanding to what occurred then and how it connects us to the lives we all live now.

Just picture it, the beauty of colorful trees and leaves, the bright blue sky and vibrant colors of flowers and green grass. A place of indefinite serenity, happiness and unity! The freedom to be fruitful and multiply, a life of order; Heaven on earth with direct access to your Creator, it was perfect! Then imagine having life, as you know it, stolen. That’s what happens to us when we choose to believe the lies of the serpent. That’s also what happened to Adam and Eve, just read and see.

Adam and Eve dwelled in the Garden of Eden, meaning they dwelled in the presence of God until the serpent (devil, enemy, ego) came and convinced them to eat of the tree of what’s good and evil (judgment). Adam and Eve had been given specific instruction from God “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:15-17) However the serpent came to her with deceptive temptation and said, “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”(Genesis 3:4-5) and boom, just like that she had been deceived, her life and Adam’s, stolen. (Genesis 3:12-13Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”)

Once they ate of this tree, they began to see things differently. They now felt they had enough wisdom to judge accordingly. Then moment Adam and Eve judged what they perceived things to be, after eating from this Knowledge of Good and Bad tree their perception of life, themselves and God had changed from a limitless life, lacking in nothing to fear and adversity. After all how would they be able to judge accordingly, when they were not the creators of this Knowledge of Good and Bad tree? The enemy was able to deceive. Now Adam and Eve feel fear and hide from God, creating a false illusion of separation and anxiety. Eating fruit from the forbidden tree caused them to judge and forget their true God given destiny. Before this serpent came and deceived, they saw themselves and their lives whole, perfect and complete.

Eyes that once saw beauty now see imperfection, insecurity, and feel a false sense of rejection. The plan to steal, kill and destroy has begun to arise and take form. Realizing that you shouldn’t have eaten from this tree, shame and guilt is now causing you to flee and turn away from the very source that gave you life abundantly. (Genesis 3:10 -12 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked?)

We have all been given a God given destiny of pure limitless perfection. We lack in nothing! The story of Adam and Eve is a depiction of all the sons and daughters of God being deceived daily to believe we aren’t enough, don’t have enough, aren’t pretty, funny, or whatever it may be – it’s a lie! We are also deceived to believe we know enough about a person, situation or justice or injustice to place judgment. Fact is we don’t. We do not see all nor will we ever know all, God is the only creator, therefore the only judge. God made you perfectly anything to the contrary is a lie of the enemy. Let’s simply agree we aren’t the creators of the world we see. Lets turn away from all judgment and banish separation and conformity. Make the choice to return to our God given destiny, whole, perfect and complete and stay far away from that damn Knowledge of Good and Bad tree!
