When I Tell You I Love You

When I tell you I love you, it means I see YOU. I see past your hurt, confusion, and fear. When I say to you, I love you, and it means I want to see you at your best, so no, I won’t expose your fears. When I tell you I love you, I won’t judge, criticize, or condemn. When I tell you I love you, I am the epitome of your best friend. Your flaw, faults, and actions won’t be judged but taken as opportunities to help heal your wounds. Your parents, friends, the world me live in, see I understand that all too well, which is why when I say I love you – I do.

When I tell you I love you, my desire and intent is to help heal you, never to hurt you. When I say to you that I love you, I see God in you. When I tell you I love you, I desire to see you grow. When I tell you I love you, I will never truly let you go. When I tell you I love you, I understand where you’ve been, however; I know you were born to win!

When I tell you I love you, it means I won’t expose and belittle you when I don’t understand you. I won’t discuss your flaws or pains with anyone else, exploit instead of include. When I tell you I love you – I support you, I don’t seek to control but encourage you.

When I tell you I love you – I will be the best me for you, realizing that’s the only way to help you sincerely. When I tell you I love you, I mean it, I do. I love you with every move I make. I am you, and you are me.

When I tell you I love you, I will be patient and kind. I won’t keep any records of your wrongs. I will not be jealous of you, nor will I require you to see things my way. My love for you will never be too proud and will not dishonor you in any way.

I will do my best to remain present in doing so I will not be easily offended or angered. I will rejoice in your truth and your growth. I will always protect, trust, hope, and persevere, providing proof to those that I love how my efforts are sincere.

If ever faced with the truth, that my love isn’t reciprocated or appreciated, I will lovingly walk away from you. Yes, I love you. The difference now, I love me too. Loving you is also freeing you to find out what love means for you.
